I'm having an art exhibit at Magpie in Davis Square (416 Highland Ave, Somerville MA 02144 ). The show will run through November 4th with an opening reception this Saturday, October 6th from 2-5pm.

Then Tuesday, October 16th Spoilsport plays at the newly remodeled O'Brien's in Allston with The Winsome Griffles (from San Francisco), and The Stay At Home Ramblers. Should be a very fun show.

I have comics in two anthologies that are debuting at APE (Alternative Press Expo) this weekend in San Francisco. If you happen to be going be sure to check out Sidewalk Bump #2 a collection of skateboarding comics edited by Dan Moynihan. It will be available at the Turk Street Projects booth (#205). And don't miss out on the 368-page full color anthology Young Bottoms In Love from Tim Fish and his Poison Press (booths #341-344). It's a collection of stories from serious to silly—soap to sci-fi. Think romance comics circa 1950 (with such titles as CAREER GIRL ROMANCES and SECRETS OF YOUNG BRIDES) with a modern gay sensibility.

Hi! I hope you are having a nice summer. Here's some of what's going on with me.

1. NEW SPOILSPORT: PETO!
The multi-talented Peto came all the way from his home in Portland, OR last month to play two shows with my band Spoilsport. He was a huge hit playing guitar and singing in New York and Boston. Now he'll be switching coasts the first of August and he'll be playing with us from now on. Besides being an impressive musician Peto's also a talented hair stylist and graphic designer. Please come out to our shows this August and give Peto a big welcome.

2. SUMMER SPOILSPORT SHOWS!
Spoilsport will be playing at The Abbey in the Boston area August 9th along with The Moonbats and more. Then Spoilsport goes to Brooklyn to play The Trash Bar August 27th. These are new venues for us so come out and support us at these shows. Tell your friends!!

3. SPOILSPORT SIDE PROJECT
I'm also moonlighting in another band, Esker Moraine. Spoilsport drummer Jon plays drums and I play keyboards(!). Esker Moraine plays @ PA's Lounge in Somerville July 20th. That's next Thursday! Be sure to check out the new Esker Moraine web site and to sign up for their mailing list.

There are two books... the main book is 40 pages with color covers and black-and-white interiors. The other is a 16 page full color mini by Erik Visser. My First Photo

One of my photographs is part of an exhibit called My First Photo at the Paradise Rock Club Lounge, 969 Comm. Ave., Boston. It features the first works by many area photographers. The theme of "first photo" was open to interpretation so I submitted the oldest photo I could find (taken in 1988). The opening reception is this Thursday, August 12th 7-9 p.m. It's free and open to the public. All items on the new menu are only $4.95 from 5-8 p.m.

I know I haven't posted anything here in a long time. It's been a very busy summer. I was able to update the ILLUSTRATION page of this site recently. I've been trying to drum up more illustration work recently and I had over 12 new examples to add. I also added more sample pages for Fuchsia Galactica over in the COMICS section. The site revisions are being done slowly but surely. Hopefully I'll finish the whole thing after I finish up some new comics for the Best Of Boy Trouble collection. It's in the works but no release date has been announced yet.

Alternative Press Expo

Back from the Alternative Press Expo in San Francisco where the 10th anniversary issue of Boy Trouble debuted. I designed this anthology which includes (along with a bunch of other great stuff) 5 one-page stories by me. I shared a table with David Kelly who is co-editor of BT. Our friend the amazing Paige Braddock arranged for us to meet Jean Schulz and get a VIP tour of the Charles Schulz Museum, the monday after APE. I picked up the newly published L'il Folks collection at the museum shop and highly recommend it. Oh, and I got hitched the Friday before APE. Congratulations to me!

I'll be attending SPX again this year, exhibiting with my pals Dave Kiersh and Dan Moynihan. My new comic FUCHSIA GALACTICA SUMMER SPECIAL will be debuting there. SPX is held in downtown Bethesda, MD, just one mile outside Washington DC. In its10th year SPX now serves as the pre-eminent showcase for the exhibition of independent comic books. Friday, December 7th in Somerville, MA a Punk Crafts Fair is going on at the VFW hall in Davis Square (near the Rosebud Diner) from 7 - 11 pm. Music, drinks, and lots of fun things to buy. A great place to start your Christmas shopping! I'll have T-shirts, paintings and comics. I'll be attending SPX again this year, exhibiting with my pals Dave Kiersh and Marla Greenman. My new comic CRASH - THE LIFE AND DEATH OF A GERM will be debuting there. SPX is held in downtown Bethesda, MD, just one mile outside Washington DC. In its ninth year SPX now serves as the pre-eminent showcase for the exhibition of independent comic books. Marla and Beth have an empty apartment in their building so they are turning it into a gallery for one night. On the first floor at 33 Ashfield Street in Roslindale, MA.
